A couple of weeks ago I went on a site visit with our work to the TRI (Translational Research Institute) building at the PA Hospital. The TRI building will house four (4) of Australia’s premier medical research organisations together under one roof.
It is a joint venture by the University of Queensland’s Diamantina Institute, Queensland University of Technology’s Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, Mater Medical Research Institute (MMRI) and the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Centres for Health Research. It will be headed up by Professor Ian Frazer who was Australian of the Year in 2006 and famously known as the inventor of the vaccine to cervical cancer.
